2008
ultrachrome ink on cotton paper
Minimum bid: $150
Statement:
Each of the 63 prints in the Neighbors series was made via a sequence of virtual walks taken around my neighborhood in San Diego in 2008 on Google Maps Street View. Each image was captured through screen shots of all the people I saw during my “walks”. While the project is a critique of taste and a push against the standards of high resolution photography it is also an exploration of the myth and possible death of the neighborhood as community. I am able to interact with my neighbors by taking her or his picture without ever leaving my home or even opening my blinds.
A real transformation occurs when you see them in print form.
